Testing of building materials

The COT laboratory mainly tests paints, but also building materials in the general sense. Testing includes determination of density, dimensional stability, vapour permeability, water repellency, penetration depth, tensile strength, flexural strength, compressive strength, light fastness and frost resistance.

The laboratory also tests construction and glazing sealants according to ISO 11600, and further adhesives, primers, concrete, wood repair sealants, plastics, parquet and other wood panel products.

For plywood the quality / bonding strength can be determined according to EN 314-1.
