COT Laboratory accredited in accordance to ISO/IEC 17025
On December 21st 2011 our Laboratory has been accredited in accordance to ISO/IEC 17025. The Dutch Accreditation Council (RvA) has assessed our quality management system with a positive outcome. Our Scope is based upon the Laboratory tests in accordance to Qualicoat and Qualanod test activities.

Laboratories use ISO/IEC 17025 to implement a quality system aimed at improving their ability to consistently produce valid results. Our Laboratory has been given the accreditation number L535.

Lloyds approval for Cargo Oil test activities
Our Laboratory has recently received the Lloyds Register (LR) approval for coating test activities in accordance to the new IMO MSC.288 (87) specification for Cargo Oil Tankers. With this approval our Laboratory is the first Laboratory in the world with this LR approval (Read more)

Determination of the adhesive strength of tapes (additional tests)
Based upon the COT report with reference LAB11-0053-REP additional tests have been carried out to determine the influence of temperature and substrate on the adhesive strength of tapes. The results of these tests is that COT has found one type of tape that is suitable to carry out adhesion tests in accordance with EN-ISO 2409. (Read more)

The expire date of these tapes is approximately 1 year. The suitable tape can be ordered at COT, including test certificate, by sending the filled in purchase order.

Determination of the adhesive strength of tapes
For several years the use of tapes for the determination of the adhesion of coatings, EN-ISO 2409, is under discussion. During our internal tests, we have noticed that the adhesive strength of several tapes, which is defined in the latest edition of this standard, are not approved and yet used in the market to carry out the tests. The Laboratory of COT has carried out these tests on an European level. The results are presented in our test report with reference
